What Apps Come With Office 2019 Professional Plus?

Office 2019 Professional Plus includes eight Windows desktop apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Publisher and Skype for Business. It is the most complete Office 2019 edition; Home and Business 2019 lacks Access and Publisher. One 25-character product key activates all of them together on one PC.

Word and Excel obviously, PowerPoint for presentations, and Outlook handles your email. Then there’s Access if you work with databases, Publisher for brochures or flyers, OneNote for notes, and Skype for Business for company chat and calls. Eight apps total, and your 2019 product key activates all of them.

Why Not Just Get Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 is a subscription you pay every year, and the apps stop working when you stop paying. Office 2019 Professional Plus is a one-time purchase that you own. For people who write documents, run spreadsheets and send email, the 2019 apps cover the job without a recurring bill, which makes perpetual Office the economical choice.

The MS Office 2019 apps typically do everything most people need. Unless you absolutely need the newest features Microsoft added last month, the 2019 version works fine. Pay once, keep it, done.

What’s Different From Office 2016?

Office 2019 added new Excel functions (CONCAT, IFS, MAXIFS, MINIFS, SWITCH, TEXTJOIN), funnel and map charts, the Morph and Zoom transitions in PowerPoint, better pen and touch inking, Focused Inbox in Outlook, and Focus mode and learning tools in Word. Office 2016 has none of these, and it also left support in October 2025.

The new Excel functions are useful if you build complicated spreadsheets; otherwise you won’t miss them. PowerPoint Morph makes smooth animations between slides without an hour of manual transitions. Will Office 2019 Run on Your PC?

Office 2019 needs a 1.1 GHz or faster dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM (2 GB for 32-bit), 4 GB of free disk space and a 1280 x 768 screen. Microsoft now lists Windows 11 as the operating system; it also installs on Windows 10. It does not run on Windows 7 or 8.1, and there is no Mac version in this license.

For hardware, generally anything from the last eight to ten years is fine. Not sure which build to install? Go 64-bit: it’s better for big Excel files.

Is Office 2019 Still Supported?

No. Microsoft ended extended support for Office 2019 on October 14, 2025. Office 2019 still installs, activates and opens all your files, but it no longer receives security patches or bug fixes. That’s acceptable on an offline or secondary PC; on a main work computer with Outlook, a supported version is safer.

Want to stay with a one-time license and get support until October 9, 2029? Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 is the current equivalent. Office 2021 is no longer an option for that: its support ended on October 13, 2026.

Office 2019 Professional Plus vs Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024

Both are perpetual, one-PC Office suites for Windows. Office 2019 Professional Plus costs less and includes Publisher and Skype for Business, but it is out of support since October 14, 2025. Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 has newer Excel functions, a refreshed design and Microsoft support until October 9, 2029.

How Do I Activate Office 2019 Professional Plus?

Install Office 2019 from the Microsoft download link in your email, open Word or Excel, go to File > Account and choose Change Product Key. Enter the 25-character key (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and click Install. Office activates online and File > Account shows “Product Activated”. The whole job takes 15 to 20 minutes.

1. After purchase, we email your 2019 product key plus a download link. The installer itself comes straight from Microsoft’s servers.
2. Uninstall any other Office or Microsoft 365 version, then restart.
3. Run setup and wait for the installation to finish (15 to 20 minutes, depending on your connection).
4. Open Word, go to File > Account > Change Product Key, enter the key and click Install.
5. Confirm that File > Account says “Product Activated”.

Activation from the command line works too: in an admin Command Prompt, go to C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice16 and run cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:YOUR-KEY followed by cscript ospp.vbs /act. Our Office 2019 activation guide covers phone activation and common errors.

You need internet only for the download and the activation. After that, Office runs completely offline; I’ve used it on flights with no wifi plenty of times.

Note: Office 2019 and Microsoft 365 apps don’t mix well on one PC. Remove one before installing the other, or activation errors usually follow.

How Does the Office 2019 License Work?

The Office 2019 Professional Plus license doesn’t expire. You buy it, it’s yours, and it activates Office on one Windows PC at a time. It is licensed for commercial use, so work documents are covered. It will never turn into Office 2021 or 2024; to get a newer version, you buy that version.

Use it for ten years if you want. Each key covers one computer: want Office on your desktop and your laptop? That takes two keys. And honestly, staying on 2019 is fine for many people, since the core apps haven’t changed drastically. Word is still Word.

Compatibility With Windows 10, Windows 11 and Mac

Office 2019 Professional Plus works on Windows 11 and Windows 10, in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It does not run on Windows 7 or 8.1. It is a Windows-only product: a Mac needs Office for Mac with its own license, because Windows keys won’t activate the Mac version.
