How to Activate Windows 8 Pro

They pulled the plug on updates January 2023. No more patches coming. But hey, activation still works and your software runs fine. Bunch of companies still use it for apps that won’t run on newer Windows.

My Win8 key, can I use it for Windows 10?

Surprisingly, yes. Microsoft servers still accept Win8 Pro keys when you’re activating Windows 10 Pro. Fresh install, enter the key, boom. Want Win11 though? That’s gonna need its own Windows 11 key. Also your hardware needs to pass their TPM and CPU checks.

Pro vs Home, what’s the actual difference?

Home is barebones. Pro throws in BitLocker, Remote Desktop hosting, domain join, Hyper-V, Group Policy stuff. Anything beyond basic home browsing and you’ll want Pro.
